According to the latest reports from States/UTs as of December 7, 2023, an additional 10.53 Crore rural households have been provided with tap water connections under JJM. As of this date, approximately 71.51% (13.76 Crore) of the country's 19.24 Crore rural households have tap water supply in their homes.Given that drinking water is a state subject, the choice of technology to address water quality issues lies with the respective State/UT Governments. The Indian government collaborates with academic institutions like IITs to provide advice on various technologies available to tackle water quality challenges.The Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) - Madras, for instance, has developed the 'AMRIT' (Arsenic and Metal Removal by Indian Technology) technology. This innovative solution employs nano-scale iron oxy-hydroxide to selectively remove arsenic from water when passed through it. 'AMRIT' serves both domestic and community levels. Defense News ,U.S :- A court in the Czech Republic has decided that Prague can send Nikhil Gupta, a 52-year-old man from India, to the United States. Gupta is accused by the U.S. of being part of an attempt to harm Sikh separatist leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun. This information comes from Czech media outlet Seznam Zpravy, which referred to judicial database Infosoud.Even though the court ruled in favor of extradition, the final decision still rests with Czech Justice Minister Pavel Blazek. Gupta was taken into custody in Prague last June based on a U.S.-Czech extradition treaty.Presently, Gupta is in Prague’s Pankrac prison, as reported by a Czech news website. The Prague High Court upheld the decision of the initial court during a closed hearing this week.In defense of Gupta, his lawyer, Petr Slepicka, argued at the Prague High Court that, according to the Indian government, Pannun poses a threat to India’s security similar to how Osama bin Laden is seen as a threat to the USA.Gupta claims that the case related to the alleged plot involving Pannun has political or military connections. However, the judge dismissed the defense's argument, stating it was not a political case.Vladimir Sepka, a spokesperson for the Ministry of Justice, mentioned that it is uncertain how long the process for Gupta’s extradition will take. According to Seznam Zpravy, Repka stated, “The time frame of the minister’s decision cannot be predicted now.”Meanwhile, Gupta’s lawyer, Petr Slepicka, announced their intention to file a complaint with the Constitutional Court. He stated, “We will file a constitutional complaint and at the same time we will ask the Minister of Justice not to extradite my client to the USA.”In addition, the Supreme Court of India on January 4 rejected a petition on behalf of Gupta, requesting consular access, legal aid, and intervention in ongoing extradition proceedings in the Czech Republic.Gurpatwant Singh Pannun is considered a terrorist by India and holds citizenship in the U.S. and Canada. According to the U.S. Justice Department, Gupta is currently in custody and faces charges of murder-for-hire, carrying a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison. Czech authorities arrested Gupta on June 30, following the extradition treaty between the U.S. and the Czech Republic.The U.S. Justice Department claimed that an Indian government employee, not named in the indictment, recruited Gupta to hire someone to assassinate Pannun. This alleged plot was reportedly thwarted by U.S. authorities. The indictment further states that Gupta is associated with CC-1, an unidentified person who directed the alleged plot, and is involved in international narcotics and weapons trafficking. The indictment asserts that CC-1 directed the assassination plot from India.

In addition to the impressive display by the Indian Armed forces, the French Air Force will contribute one Multi Role Tanker Transport aircraft and two Rafale aircraft to the flypast.The highlight of the flypast will be the presence of 51 aircraft, including 29 fighter aircraft, 8 transport planes, 13 helicopters, and one heritage aircraft. Among them will be notable planes like Rafale, Sukhoi Su-30MKI, Jaguar, C-130, and Tejas fighter jets. The Army Aviation Corps Helicopters and a P-8I maritime patrol aircraft from the Indian Navy will also take part in the flypast, showcasing various formations.Scheduled to commence at 10:30 am, the parade promises a captivating display lasting approximately 90 minutes. They decided to team up after each country separately obtained the HIMARS system following Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022.Even though the details of this collaboration are not fully disclosed, a source from a Baltic defense ministry shared some insights. The plan involves creating a joint supply chain, which includes collectively purchasing rockets and missiles for the HIMARS system. Additionally, the countries will collaborate on developing shared tactical, operational, and strategic plans for using the system.To ensure a seamless operation of the HIMARS systems, the three Baltic countries will conduct joint military training and drills. They will also share responsibilities for maintenance, service, and logistical support.All three countries—Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia—decided to acquire the HIMARS system from the United States in response to Russia's invasion of Ukraine in 2022. In December 2022, Lithuania signed a deal worth USD 495 million for eight HIMARS launchers with various rockets and missiles. Estonia followed suit in the same month with a deal for six HIMARS launchers. Latvia joined the collaboration in December 2023, signing a deal for six HIMARS launchers. These agreements include a range of munitions, notably the ATACMS tactical ballistic missiles with a 300km range.

The strategic alliance with EDGE, an international technology leader, is expected to provide additional options for Baykar's clients.A video shared by EDGE showcases a TB2 UCAV fitted with the Desert Sting 16 bomb. The plan is to fully integrate the TB2 fleet with this munition by the end of 2024, enabling the drones to employ them in upcoming ground-attack missions.Desert Sting 16 is designed for accuracy, utilizing global navigation satellite systems and a semi-active laser configuration to hit targets up to 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) away. It features a 12-kilogram (26.5 pounds) warhead and has a gross weight of 23 kilos (51 pounds).It's worth noting that the UAE had previously purchased a different variant, Desert Sting 25, as part of a 4.7-billion dirham ($1.3 billion) weapons deal with EDGE last year.As for the Bayraktar TB2, it stands as a tactical UCAV with an impressive flight time of 27 hours and a maximum altitude of 25,000 feet (4.7 miles/7.6 kilometers). Capable of communicating with control stations and terminals up to 300 kilometers (186 miles) away, the drone maps its route based on non-delay, real-time image transmissions, enhancing situational awareness.
