Despite securing environmental permits and clearances, the land allotment faced delays due to the negligence of the previous government. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy's special initiative successfully cleared obstacles to the project.During a meeting with CM Reddy, Commodore Karthik Shankar, Circle DEO Rohit Bhupathi, and Captain Sandeep Das finalized the agreement for the transfer of forest lands. The Damagudem Reserve Forest contributed 1174 hectares of land to the Navy. The Union Forest and Environment Department approved the Navy's proposals in 2014. Campa funds amounting to Rs 133.54 crores were allocated for the forest land transfer, and the Navy has paid Rs 18.56 crores for land conservation measures.According to the CMO's statement, the Damagudem Forest Protection filed a petition in court seeking to cancel the project. The court has issued orders to implement precautions in line with government-specified conditions.In addition to the Navy station, the township will feature schools, hospitals, banks, and markets, catering to approximately 600 naval personnel and civilians. A comprehensive plan for preserving biodiversity and ecological balance includes extensive planting, and a 27 km road around Damagudem Reserve Forest is set to be constructed. The Assam Rifles announced on Wednesday that, one day after the mishap, 92 Myanmarese soldiers involved in the incident were sent back to their country.The Y-8 cargo plane from the Myanmar Air Force overshot the tabletop runway, crash-landing into a bush. The aircraft, carrying 14 people, had arrived to retrieve 92 soldiers who had crossed into India the previous week after clashes with an ethnic insurgent group. The 14 crew members, miraculously surviving the crash, were later airlifted to Sittwe port town in Myanmar's Rakhine state by another Myanmarese aircraft.This latest evacuation brings the total number of repatriated Myanmarese army personnel from Mizoram to 635 since November of the previous year. These soldiers had entered Mizoram after their camps were overrun by rebel forces.Officials stated that the aircraft accident resulted from a malfunction in one of its two engines. An Indian Army officer emphasized that the missile is yet to be formally inducted, and its induction will depend on the outcomes of the trial. The incident occurred near Sutia in Bongaon, North 24-Parganas, along the India-Bangladesh border.According to the BSF, Raisuddin, aged 35, was allegedly part of a group involved in cattle smuggling and had crossed into Indian territory. The BSF claimed that the group, armed with sharp weapons, attacked on-duty BSF personnel who were attempting to thwart their smuggling attempt through an unfenced stretch of the border.A.K. Arya, the BSF’s South Bengal Frontier spokesperson and Deputy Inspector General, stated, "Our jawans spotted the gang and tried to prevent the smuggling attempt. But the smugglers retaliated when one of our jawans opened fire in self-defence, resulting in the death of one person while others managed to flee."The BSF discovered Raisuddin lying injured around 5 am and rushed him to the Bongaon subdivisional hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.Arya expressed shock at the revelation that a BGB jawan could be involved with smugglers and infiltrate Indian territory wearing a lungi and T-shirt for cattle smuggling.The BGB authorities identified Raisuddin as missing and contacted the BSF, leading to a flag meeting. The BGB shared a picture of the missing jawan, who belonged to the Jessore-based 49-Battalion, and it matched the appearance of the smuggler killed by the BSF.A BSF source reported that a team from the Sutia outpost spotted a group of four smugglers at around 4:30 am on Tuesday.Expressing suspicion about the involvement of other BGB jawans in smuggling activities, a senior BSF official stated, "It is quite suspicious... How can a BGB jawan move with the smugglers unless he was involved in smuggling activities?"Senior BSF officers in Calcutta deemed the matter serious and reported it to the Union Ministry of Home Affairs. Bangladeshi media reported that the BGB authorities demanded a thorough investigation and sent a "protest note" to the BSF.

Stored securely within a return capsule, the tantalizing treasure was just out of reach due to two stuck fasteners that resisted the team's initial attempts with limited tools.While a portion of the asteroid material, amounting to 70.3 grams (2.48 ounces), had been accessed from the outside of the sampler head known as the Touch-and-Go Sample Acquisition Mechanism (TAGSAM), the majority remained confined within the capsule.According to NASA's recent statement, the breakthrough came as two of the 35 fasteners on TAGSAM, resistant to the approved tools inside the OSIRIS-REx sample container, were successfully released. With these fasteners now removed, the astromaterials curation team at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston will proceed with disassembling the TAGSAM head to retrieve the remaining asteroid material, consisting of dust and rocks up to approximately 0.4 inches (one cm) in size. The final mass of the sample will be determined in the coming weeks.NASA plans to unveil a catalog of all Bennu samples later this year, enabling global scientists and institutions to submit requests for research or display.
