This aircraft can go as fast as 2,530 kilometers (703 miles) per hour.In 1997, the Taiwanese Air Force ordered 60 of these Mirages, but some crashes have brought down the number of working planes to 54. This move became necessary as the ongoing war created a difficult situation for India, causing delays in the production of the last two ships in the frigate class.The agreement for this acquisition was signed by Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited, a company fully owned by Bharat Forge, on May 9, 2023. The entire acquisition process was completed by December 31, 2023, as reported by EA Times.Most Indian warships currently use engines from Ukraine. In addition to producing key components for regular maintenance, the factory is now manufacturing gas turbine engines for two Russian frigates to be built at the Goa Shipyard Limited under a contract from 2016.Back in September 2016, the defense ministry had signed contracts with Zorya-Mashproekt for the supply of gas turbine engines for Project 11356 class frigates. The $71.6 million contract was fulfilled, and the equipment was delivered to the Russian Yantar shipyard, where two frigates are being constructed.Another contract was signed for two additional sets for the remaining frigates being built at the Goa Shipyard Ltd. Work has already begun on these frigates, and the Russian-made ships are expected to be delivered within two years.To address the crisis in Ukraine, contingency plans are being considered to reduce dependence on a single source for critical equipment. One option is to establish gas turbine manufacturing plants in India through a partnership program, but the financial feasibility needs further study.It has also been learned that European gas turbine manufacturers are offering their products as an alternative to Ukrainian systems. MI6 allegedly instructed Huang to make multiple trips to China to gather intelligence and identify potential assets. The MSS claims that MI6 provided Huang with training and professional spying equipment in exchange for intelligence and communications.The MSS further alleges that Huang shared 17 pieces of intelligence, including significant "national secrets," with Britain. Throughout the investigation, Huang was granted consular visits in accordance with the law.CNN reached out to the UK Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO) for comment, but they did not immediately respond. This incident follows a broader crackdown by China on international consulting firms, with several offices raided and companies questioned in recent months.Previously, the MSS maintained a low profile, but it has recently increased communication with the public, even launching an account on WeChat, a popular social networking platform in China. But there is an even bigger problem – cyberattacks sponsored by other countries, and the Philippines is not fully prepared to deal with them.In a report from November, a group called Stately Taurus from China was accused of attacking a Philippine government agency. This happened at the same time as clashes between the two countries in the South China Sea. Palo Alto Networks, a US cybersecurity company, says Stately Taurus actions match the interests of the Chinese government.Philippine officials find it hard to blame a specific country for cyberattacks, but the country faces many online security breaches. In the third quarter of last year, more than 60,000 user accounts were compromised, making the Philippines one of the top 30 most-attacked countries globally. In September, the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. had a massive data leak, and hackers also defaced the House of Representatives website a few weeks later.Sherwin Ona, a cyberdefense consultant, says cyberattacks are a bigger threat than water cannons. Unfortunately, the government cyber response team is small, with only 35 members. They sometimes have to work with anonymous "black hat" hackers who may have attacked government websites before but are now willing to give tips on upcoming threats.Jeffrey Ian Dy, undersecretary at the Department of Information and Communications Technology, says they lack the funds to address the problem properly. The Philippines can not offer competitive pay to recruit and keep cyber experts in government agencies. Ideally, the team should have about 200 members, but currently, they are doing their best with just 30 people.Its not just the government agencies taking notice of the threat. Romeo Brawner Jnr, the chief of staff for the Philippine armed forces, announced plans to recruit more "cyber warriors" in October. He believes that cyber threats are almost a daily issue, including from unidentified foreign forces.Worldwide, governments have been warning about China potential digital threat. The US Office of the Director of National Intelligence highlighted China as a major cyber espionage threat. China Foreign Ministry denied these accusations, stating that it opposes baseless rumors and slanders. Sherwin Ona points to Taiwan experience, saying that China is using Russia playbook against its adversaries.

Technology News ,Medical science :- Scientists from MIT and Harvard have discovered a more effective way to correct genetic mistakes using tiny, virus-like particles. These particles, called engineered virus-like particles (eVLPs), carry prime editors into mouse cells with great success, fixing genetic disorders.Prime editing is a powerful technique for fixing genetic mutations that cause diseases. The researchers improved the editing process in human cells by 170 times by modifying these eVLPs. In tests on mice with genetic eye problems, they corrected mistakes and partially restored their vision.The breakthrough is seen as a promising treatment for genetic disorders in living animals. Importantly, when the same method was used to edit genes in the mouse brain, there were no unintended changes. This study marks the first time that therapeutic prime editing has been successfully delivered in an animal using protein-RNA complexes, according to David Liu, the senior author of the study.Scientists have been exploring gene editing to address genetic issues causing diseases. Prime editing, introduced in 2019, allows precise and diverse changes in DNA. However, delivering this editing system into living animal cells has been challenging.Different methods have been used, including lipid nanoparticles and viruses, with virus-like particles (VLPs) showing promise. VLPs are made of viral proteins and carry cargo but do not contain viral genetic material. Although VLPs have had some success, they require specific engineering for each cargo type.In their study, Liu and his team used their system to fix two different genetic problems in the eyes of mice. One issue causes a disease called retinitis pigmentosa, leading to gradual vision loss, and the other is linked to blindness in a condition called Leber congenital amaurosis (LCA) in humans.Using their eVLPs, they corrected the mutations in about 20 percent of the animals" retina cells, partially restoring their vision. The researchers made improvements to how the prime editing cargo was packaged, separated from the delivery vehicle, and entered the target cells" nuclei. These coordinated enhancements led to a 100-fold increase in efficiency, making the technique potentially suitable for therapeutic use in animals."This kind of improvement in efficiency should be enough to give us therapeutically relevant levels of prime editing," said Liu. "But we did not know for sure until we tested it in animals."

Latvia, Sweden, and Germany have chosen the 6×6 as the carrier system for the CAVS program due to its ability to easily meet diverse military requirements.This strategic acquisition enhances Finland defense capabilities and reinforces its commitment to modernizing its armed forces.
