Pakistan Hits Militant Targets in Iran Days After Drone And Missile Attacks in Pak Occupied Balochistan

Defense News ,Pakistan & Iran :- In response to Iran's strike on a terrorist group's headquarters in Pakistan Occupied Balochistan, the situation takes a significant turn as Pakistan responds with retaliatory measures. The Pakistani Foreign Ministry has officially confirmed these actions, revealing that the country's air force conducted targeted strikes on insurgent groups within Iran.

According to an AP report, an Iranian state television official reported that the Pakistani airstrike resulted in the unfortunate deaths of 4 children and 3 women. This retaliation came in the wake of Iran's attack on Pakistani soil earlier, which claimed the lives of two children in the Balochistan province. Iran has not immediately acknowledged these strikes. Their previous attacks focused on Baloch separatist factions, specifically the Balochistan Liberation Front and the Balochistan Liberation Army, escalating tensions in the region.

In response, Pakistan's Foreign Ministry issued a statement explaining the motives behind their military actions, describing them as highly coordinated and specifically targeted precision strikes against terrorist hideouts in Iran's Sistan-o-Baluchistan province. The statement emphasized the pursuit of Pakistan's security and national interests while expressing respect and affection for Iran as a brotherly country. Pakistan reiterated its commitment to dialogue and cooperation in addressing common challenges, including the fight against terrorism.

Diplomatically, Pakistan took a stance by blocking Iran's envoy from returning to Islamabad post-strike. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the breach of sovereignty, underscoring the importance of existing communication channels between the two nations.

In a further escalation, Iran responded with unprecedented missile and drone strikes, targeting alleged bases of the Balochi militant group Jaish al-Adl in Pakistan. Iran defended these actions as self-defense against a designated terrorist organization responsible for attacks within its borders.

Adding complexity to the conflict is the involvement of the Baloch Liberation Army (BLA), advocating for an independent state of Greater Balochistan. The BLA is known for targeting Pakistani forces and infrastructure, including the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), heightening concerns in the region.

Internationally, India acknowledged the nations' right to self-defense while maintaining a zero-tolerance stance on terrorism. The United States and China expressed concerns, emphasizing the impact of the incident on the already complex Middle East landscape.

As cross-border strife escalates, the challenges in maintaining regional stability become more pronounced. Urgent diplomatic solutions are needed to address the escalating conflicts and pave the way for peace in the region. Pakistan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly disapproves of the sovereignty violation, deeming it "completely unacceptable" and emphasizing the importance of communication channels between the involved nations. Iran's retaliatory strikes on Jaish al-Adl bases have resulted in casualties and property damage in the Panjgur district near the border.
