Defense News ,India :- Defence Minister Rajnath Singh announced that he'll go to Siachen, which is the highest battlefield globally, on March 24th to celebrate Holi with the soldiers stationed there. The celebration of colors will take place from March 24th to 25th.
Singh shared his excitement about visiting Siachen and celebrating Holi with the soldiers on social media. Siachen Glacier, located at around 20,000 feet in the Karakoram range, is known as the highest militarized area globally. Soldiers face extreme cold, frostbite, and high winds while stationed there.
The glacier experiences avalanches and landslides during winter, and temperatures can plummet to as low as minus 60 degrees Celsius.
