NEW DELHI — Indian defence technology company IG Defence demonstrated its indigenous T-SHUL BEAM Counter-UAS system during the Indian Air Force’s Dronathan 2026 event at the Pokhran Field Firing Range in Rajasthan from September 14 to 16.
T-SHUL BEAM is a man-portable, directional Counter-Unmanned Aircraft System designed to neutralise drones through soft-kill electronic countermeasures. Instead of physically destroying a drone, the system uses directional radio-frequency (RF) jamming to disrupt communication and navigation links, including command-and-control, telemetry, video transmission and GNSS signals.
According to IG Defence, the system uses an eight-channel RF architecture and can provide directional broadband jamming across several frequency bands. The company lists an effective jamming range of up to 3 kilometres in line-of-sight conditions and a weight of under 6 kg with its battery. The system is intended for use against small UAVs, FPV drones and other unmanned platforms.
The system is designed for tactical deployment, including the protection of forward positions, critical assets and temporary operational locations. Its directional configuration allows operators to focus electronic countermeasures toward a selected aerial target.
Wg Cdr Anoop Sharma (Retd.), AVP at IG Defence, said the company designed T-SHUL BEAM to provide a mobile Counter-UAS capability against small UAVs and FPV systems. He also highlighted its integration with the company’s GRID battle management system.
GRID is described by IG Defence as an indigenous, AI-powered Battle Management System for C5ISRT applications. It connects sensors, unmanned systems, intelligence, communications and command elements into a common operational picture. The integration allows T-SHUL BEAM to operate as part of a broader battlefield network rather than as a standalone counter-drone system.
The Dronathan 2026 event provided a platform for Indian defence companies and innovators to demonstrate unmanned and counter-unmanned technologies under operational conditions. The T-SHUL BEAM demonstration adds to IG Defence’s work on indigenous unmanned and counter-UAS technologies.
