Bellatrix Aerospace Introduces Water-Powered Plasma Thrusters for Propel Heavy Satellite in Orbit

Space News ,World :-  Bellatrix Aerospace has developed new microwave plasma thrusters called JAL 5000. These thrusters use water as fuel and are available for satellites weighing over 1,000 kg.

The JAL series of Microwave Plasma Thrusters offer great power compared to other electrical propulsion systems. They have four times more efficiency than traditional chemical propulsion systems. These thrusters are not only powerful but also cost-effective, reliable, and easy to handle, making them perfect for missions in Geostationary Orbit (GEO). Bellatrix offers these thrusters even at power levels greater than 5kW.

Specifications of JAL 5000:

  • Thrust: 300 millinewtons
  • Power: 5000 watts
  • Specific Impulse: 1050 seconds
  • Operational Life: Over 20,000 hours
  • Propellant Cost: Zero
