HAIFA, Israel, — Israeli defence technology company Elbit Systems Ltd. has secured a contract worth approximately $235 million to supply its Precise & Universal Launching System (PULS) rocket artillery systems and EXTRA-MR guided rockets to an undisclosed European customer.
The three-year agreement was signed under a government-to-government framework between Israel’s Ministry of Defense and the purchasing country’s Ministry of Defense. The company has not disclosed the customer’s identity, the number of launchers or rockets, or the detailed delivery schedule.
Contract Details and System Capabilities
Under the agreement, Elbit Systems will deliver EXTRA-MR medium-range rockets, PULS launchers, additional rocket-artillery-related platforms and integrated logistics support.
The EXTRA-MR is a precision-guided rocket designed to engage targets at ranges of up to 80 kilometres. It is compatible with PULS launchers and existing command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) architectures, allowing integration with military command and control networks.
The PULS is a modular, truck-mounted multiple rocket launcher that uses interchangeable pods to fire different munitions. Its options include Accular rockets with ranges of approximately 35–40 km, standard EXTRA rockets with ranges of up to 150 km, and Predator Hawk missiles with ranges of up to 300 km. The EXTRA-MR provides a medium-range option within the system’s ammunition family.
Expanding European Presence
The agreement adds to Elbit Systems’ European rocket artillery business as countries strengthen their long-range strike capabilities. European PULS operators include the Netherlands, Germany and Greece.
On October 14, Elbit Systems Sweden announced plans to establish the company’s first European production and maintenance centre, with operations expected to begin in 2027. The facility is intended to support local integration, assembly and lifecycle maintenance for European customers.
Some Israeli media reports, citing unnamed sources, have linked the latest contract to Azerbaijan. However, Elbit Systems has officially identified the buyer only as a European customer and has not confirmed those reports.
CEO Highlights Growing Demand
Bezhalel (Butzi) Machlis, President and CEO of Elbit Systems, said the contract strengthens the company’s position in the international rocket artillery market and reflects growing demand for its launcher and precision rocket capabilities.
He added that PULS systems and precision rocket solutions have been selected by customers worldwide, including European and NATO member states, and reaffirmed the company’s commitment to meeting customers’ changing defence requirements.
Company Background
Elbit Systems develops, manufactures and supports defence technologies across multiple military domains. According to the financial figures provided, the company reported quarterly revenue of $2,287.1 million and an order backlog of $32.0 billion as of June 30, 2026.
The $235 million agreement adds to its international contract portfolio, with deliveries and associated support activities scheduled over three years. The customer’s identity and the quantities to be supplied remain undisclosed.
