What if We Rename Parts of China: Rajnath Singh's Sharp Retort to Beijing
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has strongly criticized China's recent move to rename several places in Arunachal Pradesh, stating that such actions won't alter the ground reality. Speaking at a rally in Namsai, Arunachal Pradesh, Singh questioned China's intentions, suggesting that if India were to rename places in China, it wouldn't change territorial boundaries.
China recently released a list of 30 new names for various locations along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh, a state with which it has ongoing border disputes. This isn't the first time China has attempted to assert its claim over the region.
Singh emphasized India's commitment to maintaining good relations with its neighbors but warned that any attempt to undermine India's sovereignty would be met with a strong response. He reaffirmed that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of India.
The Ministry of External Affairs had earlier rejected China's claims on Arunachal Pradesh, asserting that the state has always been and will remain an inseparable part of India.
The remarks from Singh come amid heightened tensions between India and China over border issues. India has consistently reiterated its stance on territorial integrity, asserting its sovereignty over regions like Arunachal Pradesh.
The Defence Minister's statement reflects India's firm stand on the matter, emphasizing the importance of respecting each other's territorial boundaries to maintain peace and stability in the region.
