Swedish Company Avioniq joins UK’s Hypersonic Missile Development Programme
Avioniq joins the UK Ministry of Defence’s initiative to enhance hypersonic missile capabilities with its advanced modelling and simulation software.
Avioniq, a leader in military aviation software, has been selected to participate in the UK Ministry of Defence’s Hypersonic Technologies & Capability Development Framework (HTCDF). The £1 billion initiative, led by the MoD’s Team Hypersonics (UK), aims to develop advanced hypersonic missile capabilities over the next seven years. Avioniq will contribute its technology for Lot 2, which focuses on Modelling and Simulation, and Mission Planning.
Avioniq’s AqLab and AqModel software offer advanced modelling and simulation capabilities, allowing users to analyze, replicate, and predict the performance of missile systems accurately. These tools can significantly reduce the time required to develop missile models from months or years to mere hours or days. This rapid development is crucial for timely and effective hypersonic missile advancements.
Mikael Grev, Founder and CEO of Avioniq, highlighted the impact of their technology, stating, “Our simulation framework allows users to condense missile model development timescales significantly. This can greatly enhance the capabilities of Team Hypersonics (UK) in their critical programs.”
Founded in 2015 by experts in aviation and technology, Avioniq has established itself as a key player in military aviation software development. Their selection for the HTCDF underscores the strategic importance of their technology in advancing the UK’s defense capabilities.
