Poland's Major AMRAAM Missile Acquisition from the United States : What It Means for National Defense
On August 9, 2024, Poland made a significant move to bolster its national defense by signing a contract with the United States for the delivery of several hundred AIM-120C AMRAAM air-to-air missiles. The contract, valued at $850 million, was signed by the Polish defence procurement agency and marks a crucial step in modernizing Poland's air defense capabilities.
The AIM-120C AMRAAM, manufactured by RTX (formerly Raytheon Technologies), is one of the most advanced air-to-air missiles in the world.
