PATRIOT Air Defence System Intercepted 25 Kinzhal missiles in Ukraine :According to Ukraine
Defense news ,Ukraine & Russia War :- In a remarkable feat, the Ukraine Air Force Command has achieved a major milestone in their air defense efforts, successfully thwarting 25 out of 63 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic air-launched ballistic missiles launched by Russian forces since the commencement of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine.
Yurii Ihnat, the spokesperson for Ukraine's Air Force Command, disclosed this significant accomplishment during a statement on Ukrainian television. Ihnat underscored the pivotal role played by the PATRIOT air defense systems in enhancing Ukraine's defense capabilities against these sophisticated threats.
Discussing the recent missile attacks by Russia, Ihnat neither confirmed nor denied the involvement of Kinzhal missiles in the incident over the Dnipro River in Kyiv on January 2. He pointed out the challenges in identifying the missile type accurately, especially from social media videos.
The January 2 attack marked a notable escalation, as Russia deployed a total of 99 missiles of various types, including 10 Kh-47M2 Kinzhal hypersonic missiles. According to Ukrainian military sources, their air defense units successfully intercepted all 10 Kinzhal missiles during this extensive aerial assault. This success underscores Ukraine's resilience in the face of advanced military threats, showcasing the effectiveness of their air defense capabilities.
