Lockheed Martin Successfully Delivers First Shipment of PAC-3 MSE Interceptors to Bahrain
Defense News ,Bahrain :- Lockheed Martin has achieved a significant milestone by successfully delivering the inaugural shipment of Patriot Advanced Capability – 3 (PAC-3) Missile Segment Enhancement (MSE) interceptors to Bahrain.
The deployment of PAC-3 MSE interceptors marks a crucial advancement in Bahrain's air and missile defense capabilities, reinforcing security in the region. This initial delivery is part of a series of shipments aimed at providing Bahrain with enhanced defense capabilities through the state-of-the-art PAC-3 MSE system.
Brenda Davidson, the Vice President of PAC-3 Programs, emphasized the combat-proven nature of PAC-3 MSE, stating, “PAC-3 MSE is a Hit-to-Kill interceptor with proven efficacy against tactical ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, advanced threats, and aircraft. Its capabilities will play a pivotal role in enabling Bahrain to deter evolving regional threats and safeguard its national integrity.”
The PAC-3's utilization of Hit-to-Kill technology sets it apart, defending against threats through direct body-to-body contact. This approach delivers significantly greater kinetic energy to the target compared to traditional blast-fragmentation mechanisms. With fifteen nations already opting for PAC-3, it stands as a reliable choice for advanced air and missile defense capabilities on a global scale.
