KNDS France Unveils CENTURIO-X30 Robotic Combat Vehicle at IDEX 2025

At the International Defence Exhibition (IDEX) 2025, French defense manufacturer KNDS France introduced its latest innovation in robotic ground combat technology: the CENTURIO-X30. This advanced unmanned combat vehicle is engineered to deliver substantial fire support to ground troops while being operated remotely, enhancing both safety and combat effectiveness.

Key Features of the CENTURIO-X30

• Armament: Equipped with a 30mm (30×113) autocannon, the CENTURIO-X30 provides precise and powerful firepower capable of neutralizing a variety of threats, including armored vehicles, fortified positions, and enemy personnel.

• Platform: Built upon the PHOBOS platform, a result of a decade-long development by SOGECLAIR, the vehicle boasts a modular design emphasizing mobility, autonomy, and versatility. The PHOBOS platform weighs under two tonnes and can carry a payload of up to one tonne, accommodating various tools and sensors for missions such as surveillance, reconnaissance, and direct engagement.

• Mobility: The CENTURIO-X30 measures approximately 1.9 meters in width, 1.2 meters in height (excluding any mounted equipment), and 3.5 meters in length. It has a top speed of 40 km/h and is engineered to navigate challenging terrains, handling slopes up to 60% and side inclines up to 40%.

• Autonomy and Control: Incorporating state-of-the-art autonomous mobility systems, the CENTURIO-X30 can adapt to dynamic battlefield conditions. Its advanced control systems reduce the cognitive load on operators during low-intensity missions and provide critical decision-making support during high-intensity engagements.

• Modularity and Upgradability: The vehicle's design allows for future enhancements, including the integration of additional weapon systems and sensor packages, ensuring it remains adaptable to evolving combat requirements.
