Amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, the Indian Ministry of External Affairs has issued a travel advisory for Indian citizens. The advisory urges all Indians to refrain from traveling to Iran or Israel until further notice. Additionally, Indian nationals currently residing in either country are advised to register themselves with the Indian Embassies and exercise caution for their safety, minimizing unnecessary movements.

The advisory comes in the wake of recent events, including an attack on Iranian diplomatic premises in Syria on April 1st, which India has noted with concern. The Ministry spokesperson expressed distress over the escalating tensions in West Asia, emphasizing the importance of adhering to international norms and principles of law to prevent further violence and instability.

According to reports, Israel is on high alert amid concerns of a potential direct attack from Iran, with possibilities spanning southern or northern regions within the next 24 to 48 hours. While Iranian leadership discussions on attack plans have been mentioned, a final decision is yet to be reached.

The recent spike in tensions follows accusations by Tehran against Israel for an airstrike on a diplomatic building in Damascus, Syria. This incident resulted in the deaths of several top Iranian military officials, including a senior member of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ elite Quds Force.

Earlier intelligence from the United States suggested a likelihood of an imminent attack by Iran or its proxies on Israeli assets. However, recent reports indicate that the attack might target Israeli territory directly. American intelligence sources suggest a potential Iranian retaliatory strike within days, raising concerns of an attack on Israeli soil.
