India Offer LCA Tejas jets And Dhruv Helicopters to the Philippines
Defense News ,India :- India is actively working to strengthen its defense ties with the Philippines by offering local manufacturing of crucial defense equipment during recent discussions. The proposal includes the production of attack helicopters, artillery guns, and bulletproof vests. This initiative follows India's successful order for BrahMos supersonic cruise missiles and its offer of LCA-Tejas fighter jets and ALH-Dhruv helicopters to the Philippines.
Breaking down the offer:
1. Local Defense Equipment Manufacturing: India is willing to assist the Philippines in manufacturing LCH Prachand attack helicopters and ATAGS self-propelled artillery guns. This collaboration aims to enhance the Philippines' capabilities in domestic defense production.
2. Bulletproof Vests: The offer also includes MKU Limited's globally-exported bulletproof vests, providing the Philippines with advanced protective gear.
3. Previous Offers: India has previously proposed LCA-Tejas fighter jets, ALH-Dhruv helicopters, and BrahMos missiles. The first batch of BrahMos missiles is set for delivery next month.
4. Soft Loan Incentive: In a bid to sweeten the deal, India is offering a soft loan with a low 1.75% interest rate, a 20-year repayment period, and a 5-year grace period.
