Finland Provide 22nd Defense Equipment Aid Package Cost EUR 190 Million to Ukraine

Defense News ,Finland :- Finland has reaffirmed its commitment to supporting Ukraine by announcing the dispatch of its 22nd defense equipment aid package to the country. The latest shipment, estimated to cost EUR 190 million, contributes to a cumulative total of EUR 1.8 billion worth of defense materials provided by Finland to Ukraine.

Finnish Defence Minister Antti Häkkänen stressed the importance of implementing innovative and sustainable long-term support strategies for Ukraine. He mentioned the ongoing preparation of a comprehensive long-term plan to bolster support for Ukraine, highlighting the need for strategic thinking and collaboration.

A notable aspect of the aid package is the inclusion of products sourced from domestic industries, with a separate allocation of EUR 30 million specifically designated to support Ukraine. Minister Häkkänen emphasized the wealth of expertise within Finland's domestic industry and the defense administration's commitment to optimizing this capability, citing the example of domestic ammunition production.

In addition to the aid packages, Finland has pledged participation in the artillery and demining coalitions under the Ukraine Defence Contact Group, an organization coordinating international aid efforts for Ukraine. These coalitions aim to provide sustained support to Ukraine, further showcasing Finland's dedication to collaborative defense initiatives.

For operational security reasons, specific details regarding the contents, delivery methods, and schedules of the aid will not be disclosed.
