Constable Recruitment Exam in CRPF Expands to 13 Regional Languages

Defense News ,India :- In a groundbreaking decision, the constable recruitment examination for Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs) like CRPF, BSF, and CISF will now be conducted in 13 regional languages alongside Hindi and English. According to an official statement, the exams are scheduled to take place from February 10 to March 7, with approximately 48 lakh candidates participating across 128 cities nationwide.

The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the guidance of Union Home Minister Amit Shah, made the decision to include 13 regional languages in the constable (general duty) examination, starting from January 1, 2024. The move aims to enhance the involvement of local youths in the Central Armed Police Forces and promote the significance of regional languages.

The "historic decision," initiated by the home minister, will now see question papers being prepared in Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Marathi, Malayalam, Kannada, Tamil, Telugu, Odia, Urdu, Punjabi, Manipuri, and Konkani, in addition to Hindi and English.

The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) conducts the constable examination, a flagship recruitment test that attracts youths from all corners of the country. To facilitate the implementation of this decision, the MHA and SSC have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The SSC has accordingly issued a notification, ensuring that lakhs of youth can take part in the examination in their mother tongue or regional language, thereby enhancing their chances of selection.

The decision is expected to broaden the reach of the examination, providing an equal opportunity for employment to candidates across the nation. The statement emphasized that this initiative allows youths throughout the country a golden opportunity to participate in the constable (GD) examination in the Central Armed Police Forces conducted by the SSC in their mother tongue, opening doors for a career in the service of the nation.
