ASELSAN Unveils Smart Munitions at IDEX 2025

Turkish defence giant ASELSAN made a strong impression at IDEX 2025 in Abu Dhabi, showcasing its latest advancements in smart munitions and mortar systems. The event, held from February 17-21, served as a global platform for ASELSAN to introduce next-generation weaponry designed to enhance battlefield precision and adaptability.

Among the highlights were the ATOM 25 ABM, ASAF 155 CCF, and ASAF 155 MOFA smart munitions, each tailored to meet the evolving challenges of modern warfare. The ATOM 25 ABM, an airburst munition, is engineered for precision strikes against unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). With programmable detonation and a kinetic warhead, it ensures maximum effectiveness, even in contested electronic warfare environments.

The ASAF 155 CCF is designed to enhance artillery accuracy through course correction and air braking mechanisms, improving the first-round hit probability under diverse combat conditions. Meanwhile, the ASAF 155 MOFA introduces a multi-option fuse, offering flexibility in detonation modes, including proximity and time-based settings, making it adaptable to a wide range of tactical scenarios.

ASELSAN also displayed its advanced ALKAR 100/81 and ALKAR 110/81 mortar systems, which feature automated fire control and GPS-guided targeting. These systems allow for rapid deployment and increased accuracy, while their "shoot and scoot" capability enables quick repositioning to evade counterattacks, a crucial advantage in modern, fast-paced warfare.

By unveiling these cutting-edge munitions, ASELSAN reaffirmed its commitment to delivering state-of-the-art defence solutions, reinforcing its position as a leading innovator in smart weapon technology.
