US Air Force Grants $49-Million Long-Endurance Drone Deal

Defense News ,World :- Tech giant DZYNE has inked a $49-million deal with the US Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) to pioneer cost-effective, military-grade capabilities aimed at bolstering the endurance and propulsion of the US unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) fleet.

The contract is earmarked to fund research and development for DZYNEs long endurance program, which focuses on creating cutting-edge technology to enable ultra-long endurance missions for the Air Force UAVs. The initiative delves into advanced artificial intelligence and control integration to enhance the fleet capabilities.

This collaboration aligns with the Biden administration recent emphasis on strengthening the nation drone fleet. Ben Slater, Chairman of the DZYNE board, emphasized the company dedication to addressing US security challenges through this contract.

"We are honored to continue working alongside AFRL and look forward to continuing to develop cutting-edge technologies that break the traditional defense acquisition cost curve and safeguard our country and its interests," stated Slater.

DZYNEs commitment to national security is further demonstrated by its recent collaboration with the Department of Defense. The company is set to construct a substantial 125,000-square-foot (11,600 square-meter) research facility in Irvine, California, to support autonomous projects, including the Replicator program. Research, development, and manufacturing at the facility are slated to commence in the coming year.
