Differences Between Agneepath Scheme and Sainik Samman Scheme

Implementation Details

The Sainik Samman Scheme will be officially implemented nationwide on June 23, 2024. It applies to all new recruits from February 2024 onwards. Existing Agniveers recruited before this date will not be covered under the new scheme.

Conclusion

The Sainik Samman Scheme 2024 introduces significant improvements over the Agneepath Scheme, providing better financial benefits, job security, and enhanced service conditions for Indian soldiers. These changes aim to attract more youth to join the defense services and ensure their well-being and career growth.

This comprehensive overhaul reflects the government's commitment to honoring and supporting the nation's soldiers, ensuring they receive the respect and benefits they deserve.

Provision of pension for NOK must be included for martyrs and job for son daughter as authorised to other civil employees.. good point that full retention of technical is included because cost of training a technician is much more.. government aim is just to prune the pension bill but it isa huge compromise with national security.. day by day bureaucrats are making armed forces career unattractive and last motivation of pension is also threatened will force government to outsource man power to operate its sophisticated weapons. Defence pay pensions are less than free rations of 2.2 lakh crores which started in 2020 covid.. Mig 21 brings down F 16 because of better motivated man behind machine.. government sees every thing with a prism of vote…

Government can exploit these guys for longer periods for 20 yrs because let BE/B Teck/M Teck direct condidates can't challenge those experienced fellows as few of them gets foreign training I e Russia, Israel, usa,UK and france. Tour Of Duty as recommended by 6th Pay Commission can be made an excellent scheme for everyone ie a totally WIN WIN situation for the country and all departments, if and only IF , Agnipath is made mandatory requirement for applying for all Govt jobs including PMF, Police, peon to IAS. All departments and services will benefit with fully trained officers and men, joining them after Agnipath And the best people will opt for Agnipath scheme due to assured career after 4 - 7 years. Agnipath should be for officers also and not for Soldiers only. After Tour Of Duty of 4 years, all Govt jobs will be filled up by fit, patriotic, combat experienced, motivated Agniveer for whom it will be always NationFirst Govt will not only save on pension but can reduce the recruitment, training period costs in other services. One point to ponder Why do we need so many recruitment agencies ie separate for Defense, BSF, CRPF, State Police and other forces ? Why can't we have one recruitment agency for Agnipath and after 4 years, side step trained Agniveer to other organizations ? But if Only aim of the scheme is to reduce expenditure only then all other so called benefits like younger age profile, discipline in society, better resume on release have been invented to justify. Efficacy will emerge only after few years. ?????

2024-06-16 16:41:16
As recommended by earlier Committees, the ideal solution would be for the over 10 lakh troops of the PMF and CPOs to first do an Agniveer stint with the Army and then at 21-22 years of age go to their parent PMF or CPO fully trained. Not only will this provide better trained manpower to the PMFs and CPOs, but it will also greatly synergise mutual understanding and training between elements of the MoD and MHA. In tomorrow’s battlefield, where the fourth and fifth estates merge with social media warriors from across borders, influencing opinions and actions with plausible deniability, having more trained and aware forces with lateral synergy between MoD and MHA forces – all equally organs of the State, can only be to national security benefit.

Speaks poorly on functioning of a Govt. You just don't do something without evaluating it fairly and seeking feedbacks from all concerned. From day1, it attracts criticism, far & wide (only Govt couldn't perceive it before implementing). Then you do some improvement but sure you will need more & soon. What is so sacrosanct about 7 years, after 42 weeks of training? Why retention of only 60%, 75% would be more fair & assuring. Then where you absorb 40%, in matching qualification Vs job content? Are they to be absorbed as guards all over?

It should be ensured that the soldiers are not betrayed by not giving them 100% placement later. 3. Atleast 75% overall personnel be retained as recommended by the Armed Forces earlier. 4. Agniveer was something against nothing. Sainik Samman is upscaled agnoveer. There can be more and more and more--to the beneficary nothig is enough. This scheme is also likely to fail if the Govt is only worried about Pension liability of 13 lack soldiers & not about the security of the nation. 60% retained will be again a demotivated lot due to lack of promotion avenues. Only 10-15% will get promoted. It is better to give them a lateral entry to CAPF or state police forces rather than keeping those demotivated lots. There shall also be a dedicated military industry collaboration cell to identify the industry needs & feed the ex soldiers of technical arms to compatible industries. Gen duty soldiers can be absorbed into HR functions. Present state level ESM cells are not at all effective.

Hope feedback from lower unit has taken. When the future is appears unsafe, to command such troops is bit difficult. Money given in one go can not be manage properly be that gp of boys. It is further difficult to get job in civil where aspirant are already in queue with big education digrees. Better make it regular recruitment and short service recruitment as for the officers. Let citizen choose where they wish to join. And then give a chance to the short service recruitment to covert as regular according to their performance in seven yrs This will tackle all and the name and fame of Indian fauzi will be remain as it is

Better the selection percentage to be increased 80%. 20% rejection id reasonable.

Why agniveer scheme only for Defence. Why not in all government jobs? Rather than rejecting few after a particular period, why not make selection more transparent and with real stringent standard for all.

Totally stupid scheme. Every morning when I go to the ground, I see today's youths do not have any interest in joining Indian Army as Agniveer, instead they want to join Para military forces so that they can atleast retire at the age of 60.

Sir, the first para itself reads that the scheme is launched on 23 June 2024,,which has created an understand that it is a fake news. The sentence should have been ss per the writing under the dub para ".*IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SCHEME" to the effect that the theme will be launched wef 23 June , 2024

Though the Sainik Samman Scheme looks like an improved version of Agnipath, Short Service Engagement won't be attractive to the youths of this Nation. Anyone who joins Military service should get pension to make it attractive. Further, enough safeguards must be taken to avoid the released Javans reaching wrong groups.

Now it appears fairly reasonable. This deep thinking should have been done earlier when the Agniveer Scheme was launched. What will the new recruits under this scheme called sepoys or some other name?

I fail to understand what is the sainik samman in this new blunder. The better way would have been - make the agniveers fully enrolled soilders and then after 8 years send 25 % on reserve liability. 40 lakhs financial benefits is a joke of highest order since it is nothing but monthly emoluments for a job they are going to get.
